Castell de Subirats - Santuari de la Mare de Déu de la Font Santa should be visited Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 12:30 am from now.
Patronat de Turisme de Subirats (Subirats Tourism Board) supports this route that has been designed by Mossèn Josep Raventos, to highlight cultural and spiritual vision of monument. A place of outside great beauty and privileged panoramic viewpoint, which is largely unknown inside with more than 1,000 years of history. Mossèn Josep Raventos is the 103rd Rector of Sant Pere de Subirats Parish since 1971 and is first promoter of Castle and Sanctuary restoration. Visits are full of authenticity and knowledge of this place and its inhabitants throughout history. Tour includes "Terra de Marca" Castles in Catalonia exhibition on the "Mil.liari Room", where a roman Via Augusta milestone with almost 2,000 years old and converted into a sarcophagus, is exposed. Subirats Castle is the oldest Penedès region documented castle. A unique heritage in Catalonia with some sections dating back to the Iberian period.
Subirats Tourism Board will manage visit booking, monument promotion and tourist advice will be made to improve visitor experience.
