Sant Pere de Riudebitlles
HD Riudebitlles, a hotel open to contemporary art, presents a selection of lithographs and multiple objects by various artists, entitled "All art is quite useless". A phrase from the prologue of The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde. Art is useless because its aim, says Wilde, “is simply to create a mood. It is not meant to instruct, or to influence action in any way. It is superbly sterile, and the note of its pleasure is sterility.”
You are invited to visit the exhibition and do a perfectly useless thing: give yourself art.
The exhibition includes works by Alban Allegro, Jaume Amigó, Colomba Amstutz, Ivan Baillard, Àlvar Calvet, Pepe Camps, Tom Carr, Anna Comellas, Anet Duncan, Gabriele Fettolini, Georg Massanés, Toru Matsuoka, Jo Milne, Carles Monegal, Perico Pastor , Victor Perez-Porro, Anne-Chantal Pitteloud, Javier Puértolas, David Ribas and Vicenç Viaplana, made at the workshop of Carles Monegal Edicions d'art from Tremp (Lleida).
